Plan A Visit

Drake Planetarium is open for the general public, offering fascinating glimpses into the wonderful world of astronomy and space science. Each program is divided into two parts:

  • The first part is the planned program.

  • Time permitting, the second part is always an introduction into the nighttime sky. Each person is given a free sky chart. After learning how to use it, they are then taught to recognize the major constellations and planets visible at that season of the year.

  • Descriptions of each of these programs are found below.

Important: Due to security concerns, the doors to the building will not be open until 30 minutes before the first show of the day. Please be aware that you will have to wait outside if you arrive prior to this time.
