Mars Rovers Near Five Years Of Science And Discovery

The rovers have made important discoveries about wet and violent environments on ancient Mars. They also have returned a quarter-million images, driven more than 13 miles, climbed a mountain, descended into craters, struggled with sand traps and aging hardware, survived dust storms, and relayed more than 36 gigabytes of data via NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter. Follow The Drinking Gourd

Drake Planetarium offers a wonderful story of human determination, hardship, and innovation based on the book by Jeanette Winter.

Experience the plight of the slaves as they take on a dangerous journey to freedom. Search for winter constellations, learn a slave song and watch as a slave family uses the Big Dipper to escape to "freedom land." Showings are held Sunday, January 18 at 2:00 pm and Thursday, January 22 at 7:00 pm.
