After School Programs - 2008-2009

LEGO Lab

  • Create and construct models of towers, buildings, machines of all kinds that really work.
  • Apply math and science to real world situations.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem solving. 
  • Develop skills for life situations. 
  • Build self-esteem and HAVE FUN!

LEGO Mania!
Join other students to construct crazy contraptions and other Lego models.

Session I - Crazy Contraptions
Participants will build DaVinci machines and the wildest working contraptions to compete in coliseum type games.
5 Weeks - Dec. 3, 10, 17, 2008 & Jan 7 & 14, 2009.
Wednesdays. Time: 4:00-6:00 pm.

Session II - Architecture
Enjoy learning the principles of architecture using modeling and engineering techniques. Design and build a tall tower strong enough to withstand hurricane force winds! Build an earthquake proof structure and a building from antiquity.
5 Weeks - TBA
Wednesdays. Time: 4:00-6:00 pm.

Session III - Racing Machines
Create all kinds of cars, bots, e-cars, and solar-powered cars!
5 Weeks - TBA
Wednesdays. Time: 4:00-6:00 pm.

Session IV - LEGO Robotics
This program provides the basics of mechanical engineering to design a variety of working robots and their accessories.
5 Weeks - TBA
Wednesdays. Time: 4:00-6:00 pm.

After-school programs are currently held at the Drake Science Center in the Fidelity Building at Sherman & Montgomery Roads. We can also schedule a program on-site at your school! Check out our Outreach Lego Program.
