Capture the Colorful Cosmos!
Inspired by images captured by students using the Harvard-Smithsonian MicroObervatory Robotic Telescopes, art students created these beautiful pictures. This is part of a joint project between the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, NASA, and the Association of Science-Technology. Locally, Drake Planetarium's Director, Pam Bowers, spearheaded this project and worked to train students and community members on how to controll the robotic telescopes and capture their own images. Then students used these captured images to produce their own view of the cosmos.
The exhibit titled, "Capture the Colorful Cosmos!”, is located in the hallway, right outside the Planetarium on the top floor of Norwood High School. The opening of the exhibit was September 24 and was attended by students community members, and the press.
